We are very proud here at Lion Yard to annually support the Cambridge Legion with their poppy appeal, with prime free space in the mall a cross the 2 weeks of collection, but also by working closely with the Norfolk regiment who bring in an incredible World War 1 & 2 memorabilia display – allowing shoppers and youngsters to really go back in time and understand what War was like. Annually we help raise over £18,000 for the Cambridge Legion towards soldiers’ welfare and treatment from all conflicts.
We are proud to also host small memorial service around our central atrium as well as the turning the central pillar into a remembrance piece covered in poppies that remembers those who gave so much! Look out for the amazing sounds from the local salvation army who also come into Lion Yard annually over remembrance weekend to play some classic tracks and mark the sombre occasion.
