For several years now Lion Yard has prided itself on running a FREE Santa’s Grotto experience, offering children the chance to meet with Santa, receive a present and tell him what they want for Christmas, in a quality and safe environment, inside the centre’s main atrium.
In 2022, Lion Yard’s grotto experience was based on a whole new Christmas decoration install around our version and take on the North Pole! Our North Pole featured classic orange and white hanging illuminated signs and outposts, country markers and distances as well as a unique Arctic outpost hut in the main atrium, which was the home of Santa on the 3rd, 4th, 10th, 11th, 17th – 24th December.
Roger Allen centre manager of Lion Yard commented “We are proud to run a free grotto at the heart of the city centre. There are a lot of pressures on households at the minute and the chance for any child to meet with Santa should be universal and not based on price.
